Here is my cornball post about the DC Trip complete with my pics.

Three recent news items make it clear that the train wreck that was once journalism is now in our rear view mirror. At the same time it is becoming clearer where we will go for real news. It has gotten so bad that the media itself is reporting its death. Let the party begin.
The AP ran a report on a PEW research poll that indicates media credibility is at an all time low. They also report the plunge of advertising dollars in all traditional media outlets. So it is clear the burial site is being cleared.
Poll: News media’s credibility plunges to new low
Nearly two-thirds of Americans think the news stories they read, hear and watch are frequently inaccurate, according to a poll released Sunday by the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press. That marks the highest level of skepticism recorded since 1985, when this study of public perceptions of the media was first done.
The survey found that 63 percent of the respondents thought the information they get from the media was often off base. In Pew Research’s previous survey, in 2007, 53 percent of the people expressed that doubt about accuracy.
Howard Kurtz wrote a scathing piece on the MSM Van Jones coverage that highlights the reason why we no longer trust traditional media. Kurtz reports on the media lack of coverage of the Van Jones scandal in vivid detail. He properly credits Glen Beck with breaking the story yet couldn’t hold back his whack job liberal obsessions choosing to pepper the article with insults about Beck. We can all agree with Howie – the mainstream media is really no longer necessary.
Beck and the Mainstream
It has become a familiar chain reaction: Talk-show hosts whip up a noisy controversy, which hits higher decibels as it spreads to the establishment media, which costs some unfortunate soul his job.
But now the middleman — the journalistic gatekeepers of yore — may no longer be necessary.
By the time White House environmental adviser Van Jones resigned over Labor Day weekend, the New York Times had not run a single story. Neither had USA Today, which also didn’t cover the resignation. The Washington Post had done one piece, on the day before he quit. The Los Angeles Times had carried a short article the previous week questioning Glenn Beck’s assault on the White House aide. There had been nothing on the network newscasts.
“Where is the press on this?” Beck asked in late August during one of several rants against Jones. But it turned out the Fox News host didn’t need the big news organizations to claim his scalp.
This week came the emergence of the new 60 Minutes! After last nights 60 Minutes love in with Zero CBS proved that they are no more than an infant sucking it’s mothers breast. Where is Dan Rather shoving a camera in someone’s face? When will a new Mike Wallace emerge who will ask a President or world leader some tough questions? Somewhere in the rubble of the train wreck I guess.
Meet James O’Keefe and Hannah Giles, the new Woodward and Bernstein on steroids sans Bradley. Episode #3 of their vigilante undercover work on ACORN was released today entitled, “Bury yo money in a tin.” I have seen two interviews with Giles and O’Keefe and they make it clear that they feel the MSM is dead and that they feel compelled to pick up the sword. Admitted conservatives it is clear that they are original, organic and tough as nails. After last weeks Episode #1 and #2 of “Pimp yo Ho” when Hannity asked O’Keefe if there was more to come he replied, “I won’t say.” After ACORN threatened lawsuits he replied “Bring it on, before this is over ACORN will be apologizing to me!”
It is clear that they have planned a slow drip infusion of cyanide into ACORNS jugular. O’Keefe was just as mad about BS reports on CNN that they has been thrown of out offices in LA, Miami and NYC. So today he proved that the ACORNS in NYC are just as corrupt as ACORNS everywhere. We know that ACORN is not an organization that happens to have Democrats working for them; they ARE the Democratic Party.
As Kurtz said, we really don’t need the MSM to report on real issues anymore – not when we have courageous young people like O’Keefe and Giles
For your enjoyment – Episode #3 “Bury yo money in a tin”
Unlike some that sit in dark basements blogging ignorance I was there on Saturday. There are many pictures available depicting people all the way down the mall to the Washington Monument. What should add to the crowd estimates is that people were also on Pennsylvania Ave all day and in the surrounding areas around the Capital Bldg that is restricted for inauguration ceremonies. So we can see that there were at least one million people there on Saturday. That is unless you classify USA Today and the Park Service as a right wing extremist group! This was published in January to depict how many people were present at Zero’s Coronation!
Here is a first hand report. Police and volunteers told me that they had not anticipated the large crowd. At different times during the day they had to open more sections of the mall that are actual street blocks causing them to close more cross streets. You can see by the pic that any report of crowds in the 100k range are simply ignorant. Yet since the original projection was 100-200k it is easy to see the challenge the Park Police were faced with.
This will be the first and last thing that I ever post about the drug induced rants published on Saturday by the ponytailed ukulele player at LGF Charles Johnson. CJ – get out of your basement you whack job. You sit on your safe little underground throne spewing crap at bloggers that are respected for their work and appear at events throughout the world working with passion for their cause. Yet you never go anywhere. What is that? You take second hand reports and cherry pick crap from the internet that you have no idea of it’s authenticity or context. Here’s a clue CJ – there is a world outside of your basement.
As a recovering addict (25 years) CJ I hope you get help – sobriety is great. It will improve your bleak attitude of the world and maybe you can influence people with truth in a positive way. Errrrr ahhhhh CJ, don’t you think that posting a blog criticizing a rap singer at the march is a sign of a brain turned to shit? Until then, here’s hoping you reach your bottom safely you fookin liar!
Words cant describe how awesome the 9-12 Tea Party March was today. As a matter of fact pictures really can’t. I had two “Kodak Moments” with strangers that really summed it up for me – more to come.
Here is the corny travelogue. All the plans worked out fine. BH and OE met us at the Metro. Shark’s son Chris was our tour guide as he knows DC and the Metro very well. Oh – be sure to compliment Shark on what a great Father (and Grandfather) he is as Chris is really a fine young man! Our group never split up and remained together all day – quite a feat. While we waited for some of the Table 9 guys to wee wee I got a call from Ario – he was two blocks away! So everyone from the table made it and marched to the mall together!
The best way to describe the crowd is that it reminded me of a 50 ft wave that comes from nowhere and just when you expect it to break, keeps on rising. The people just kept marching down Pennsylvania Ave. The wave never seemed to stop. The prediction was 100 – 200,000 and reports are that there was between 1.5 and 2 million – oops! Check out this cool time lapse video to get the idea – (hat tip r2)
Sometimes when I least expect it, in an unexpected place and moment one of those magic moments occurs to help me get “it.” Oh, these experiences usually include an “elder,” one that possesses wisdom.
Kodak Moment #1
When we got on the Metro Betty, a “older” woman from a very small town in SC sat down next to me. I am a chatty guy and said hi and asked her where she was from. Betty was chatty too and told me that she coordinated 15 buses from their town. She told me that three weeks ago she (add southern twang) “justa had to come” and she told her Tea Party Group that she would make the plans. She went on, ” I ain’t never done anything like this before so I was a mess. My phone never did stop ringing for three weeks.” WOW. She said, ” well first I rented one bus, then two and well before I knew it we had rented every God dern bus we could.”
They drove through the night to get to DC as they couldn’t afford a hotel. As a close friend in Wales would say – I was Gobsmacked! I think Betty immediately helped me understand what I was getting into and I immediately suspected that there would be well more than 100,000 people. Betty was as fired up as a 15 year old going to the beach! Thanks Betty!
Kodak Moment #2 The Colonel
We were about half way to the Mall and some of the gang needed a pit stop. I sat on the ledge of a wall waiting and noticed a senior man sitting alone with a Cap indicating that he was a Veteran. He had the typical leather tough face with deep wrinkles and a jut chin. I shook his hand and thanked him for his service. Chatty guy I am asked where he was from – He said SC too. I had a back pack with some snacks and offered him fruit and a bottle of water. He took the bottle and thanked me. Then I said – you all (pandering, I know) need to do something about Lindsey Graham.
He is a Retired Colonel and had served in three wars, Korea, Nam and Desert Storm 1. His wife had just passed away and he drove his camper up to see “just what the hell was going to happen here.” You could see in his eyes that he has seen more than most men ever will. As we watched the endless stream of people walking down Pennsylvania Ave to the mall – singing God Bless America, chanting USA, USA and generally showing their respect for our great country he said two things that got me in the heart.
The Colonel told me he knows Sen Graham, as in retirement he ran the local VFW. “Sen Graham presented us with a flag and has been to my house a few times.” Then came the snapshot – “I don’t really know what happened to that Man, somewhere along the way he just lost it.” I said – “Lost it?” “Yes sir, he just forgot how this thing works – he is doing things he was not elected to do.” Amen Colonel!
As we looked back down the route to see if the sea of humanity was letting up he put it out of the park – “this is really something today. I came here on Thursday and have never seen so many Patriots in one damn place in my entire life.” His face contorted and eyes filled and I could tell that he was proud to be an American and somehow he was satisfied that he served for a higher cause!
We shook hands, he thanked me for the water and we went our way.
This day was not about politics really. It is about our angst at Government in general. They are just not doing what they were elected to do.
A special thanks to everyone at the Table 9 lounge. Your encouragement and friendship made it more special than it was. Literally hundreds of people asked me about my homemade “Table 9 Shirt.” I told them – it is the best conservative chat room on the internet – stop by!!
YES!! My inner child is ready to go! 😉
As much as I hate reading peoples cornball travel diaries I felt compelled to post this piece. 🙂
Tomorrow is the big day. For those that don’t know what Table 9 is here you go. We are a chat room group that first met in the old Little Green Footballs Lounge and when the proprietor Charles Johnson sunk into insanity Roses and some others started an independent chat room. I had seen the writing on the walls at LGF early on and stopped going there (and was banned) shortly before Table 9 began. When I was contacted about our new home I was ecstatic. Table 9 is an amazing place as with little or no moderation we all remain civil. Our common bond is conservative/libertarian positions and a deep love of our great country. We are scattered about the world, all ages, religions with many psychological quirks.
This is the first time I participated in a chat group like this and am amazed at how I have developed genuine caring for many of my comrades without ever meeting them. I had lunch with stashiu and shark last winter and today the three of us had lunch with Ornery Elephant (equipped with chocolate covered peanuts) who stomped into town for the 9-12 March.
Tomorrow several other Table 9 Mobsters will be in town for the March from all over the USA. I haven’t been this excited in many moons!! Attending – Shark and sons, Jed and wife, BH, OE, Stash, ario and me. On Sunday OE and I will be meeting babes and some others for dinner.
I spent weeks thinking about what to put on a sign for the March. I started with “Impeach Obama,” “FOOK Pelosi,” and went to “Burn DC BURN.” None of them seemed appropriate as the issue is not really with only Obama. Or Nancy Botox Pelosi. What enrages me about the state of our country was articulated this week at Obamas speech. Simple. Concise. To the point. Yes Congressman Wilson said it all –
Yup, what pisses me off is that for years our elected officials have run our Country into the ground while telling us bs lies. And – I can spell “lies” and it is easy to get on a T-Shirt!
Wish us luck tomorrow. YES – more pictures to come!
And for anyone that has never been to the lounge – try it. Table 9 Link Some of the best people in the world hang there each day and night!
Here is a pic of my Dog Dubya and my sign for tomorrow – Yeah he hates it!
Below is the front and back of my custom made shirt for tomorrow –
Dan Calabrese Hits the Nail on the head About Van Jones – “Why Van Jones Had to Go: Exposing the Left’s Family Secrets”
The is a great read from Dan Calabrese, NorthStar Writers Group – READ HERE
The real reason Jones had to go was not his ideas per se. He thinks the way President Obama thinks. Jones had to go because his presence in the administration revealed so much about how the left operates – and these are supposed to be closely guarded family secrets.
Perhaps the most unintentionally hilarious statement about Jones came from the Washington Post in its wee-hours Sunday morning coverage of Jones’s resignation:
Jones, a towering figure in the environmental movement, had worked for the White House Council on Environmental Quality since March. He was a civil-rights activist in California before turning his focus to environmental and energy issues, and he won wide praise before joining the Obama administration for articulating a broad vision of a green economy Democrats could embrace.
Here we see that Jones is also a birther \\sarc >>>>
Further proof that Jones is a “Mainstream Liberal” can seen below. The big family secret of the Dems has truly been revealed for all to see –
Praise from former DNC Chair Howard Screamer Dean –
And here Nancy Botox Pelosi praises Jones, an admitted communist and Troofer –
Great read from FOX Nation by Phil Lerpen on how this all started!
How Van Jones Happened and What We Need to Do Next
I was an unlikely Van Jones expert. It started July 9, when “FOX & Friends” asked me if I’d come on the show the morning of July 10 to explain what “green jobs” are. It meant an early morning the next day, but I was glad to do it, because exposing the green jobs scam is critical to fight cap-and-trade, my top legislative priority for the year. The producer asked me if I knew anything about green jobs “czar” Van Jones. I didn’t but said I would find out.
I e-mailed a friend who follows the green groups and he said he thought Jones was socialist. — I doubt he had any idea how deep it went. A couple Web searches later, I couldn’t believe what I found in an article from the alternative San Francisco newspaper the East Bay Express. The man was a self-professed communist, with ties to ACORN and a radical Maoist group called STORM. His real name was Anthony, with “Van” made up in college because he thought everyone cool has a one-syllable name.
There was so much material there, but what really stood out is what I used the next day on F&F: the “green jobs” concept was merely a new face on the old ideology of central economic planning and control, an alternative and a threat to free market capitalism.
As soon as I got back to the office, I e-mailed the East Bay Express article to one of Glenn Beck’s producer, saying: “Please share with Glenn this article about green jobs czar Van Jones, a self-described communist who was radicalized in jail. Confirms “watermelon” hypothesis.” (I was referring to an explanation we had offered on his show of the cap-and-trade bill as a “watermelon,” green on the outside but Communist red to the core.)
